ESTATE of CAPTAIN GABRIEL MASTIN

The exact date of the death of Gabriel Mastin is unknown, as is his place of burial.  He is certainly buried in Robertson Co. TN, probably on, or near, the land that he owned.  As he appears in court records in March of 1821, and his wife Rebecca applies for administration of his estate in August, he most likely died in early August, or late July 1821.

 

There are two entries in the Court Minutes regarding his estate:

 

Court Minutes, Vol 6, 1820-1822.

 

August Term 1821, p. 333.

 

            On Motion of Rebekah Mastin letters of administration is granted to her on the estate of Gabriel Mastin decd. and she together with John Johnson and Richard Williams her securities acknowledged their bond in the sum of $5000 Conditioned as the law directs & took the oath by law required.

 

            Ordered by the Court that the Administratrix of Gabriel Mastin dec’d have leave to sell the personal estate of said dec’d.

 

 

Nov. Term 1821, p 399.

 

            An account of sale of the estate of Gabriel Mastin Decd. was returned to Court and ordered to be recorded. 

There is also the recorded sale of his property on pages 342-344 of Will Book 3, and the final amount currant for the estate in Will Book 4, page 13.
