WILSON FAMILY

The History of the Wilson family from my line is documented primarily in a book on David Caldwell.  My Wilson ancestors settled in Abbeville County, SC, and when my GGGgrandmother's brother, Mathew Harvey Wilson, died, there was an extensive eulogy published in the paper giving his ancestry.

Matthew Wilson, my GGGGgrandfather, m. Elizabeth Caldwell, daughter of James Caldwell (ca. 1738 - 1805) and Elizabeth Harris.  Elizabeth is mentioned in her father's Will (1804), as Elizabeth Wilson.

Matthew and Elizabeth Wilson's daughter, Mary (Polly ) Wilson m. Robert Strain.

The rest of their children are well documented on a site by Tricia Petitt, though you can tell that she didn't know what had happened to Mary's children.
